Research and sources

Where Bound? is historical fiction. The wreck, rescue chain and many named participants are documented; private conversations, moment-to-moment actions and inner lives are reconstructed. The edition’s Historical Note distinguishes those categories and identifies where the record remains uncertain.

This selective list identifies key public records carrying factual claims in the novel. The complete source discussion appears in the Historical Note included in the PDF and EPUB editions.

AI assistance disclosure: AI tools assisted with historical research, source comparison, drafting and editing. Ian Farmer remains responsible for the novel’s interpretations, creative choices and errors.
